Here are some screen shots of the different characters, this is very effective because it gives you a background to the character and you can tell that the group has stolen money and jewellery and they are flashing it about.
This is the character 'Sol' he gives the expression that he is in a gang because it shows him smoking a joint and he is in the time of his life because he is throwing money around. The camera shot used is a mid shot because it shows the character doing his action it shows the character has no respect because he is throwing cash about whilst smoking.
This is the character 'Cousin Avi' he looks a lot more important than the other character like he's the boss of the group because in the clip he is checking the goods because he has a magnified glass checking a diamond. This camera shot is also a mid shot because it also shows the character is a high class person looking at the jewellery that they have stole.
Here we have the character 'Vinny' he shows that interested in money and gold because you see him clinching to the gold necklace, which shows that he has greed. This camera shot is a close up because you see the character clinching the gold because it is so rare.
This is the character 'Boris the blade' he shows that he is violent because he is holding a shot gun which might suggest that there is a show down in the film. The camera shot is also a close up because it shows the expression on the character face as he is gripping the gun.
Finally the character I have chosen is 'Bullet tooth Tony' aka Vinnie Jones in his scene he throws someone in the back of a car which shows that he is a violent character in this film as well. with a name like 'Bullet tooth' it shows he has no fear. The camera work for this shot is a 'low angle shot' which shows the character as a big person to make the audience feel uncomfortable.
This title sequence inspires me because it is a fast paced action movie that contains lots of money and guns. this is what I look for in a film because it gets me the audience on the edge of my seat because the introduction introduces the film and sows all the character in their light doing what they do on a regular basis. The opening titles is very effective because it shows that the film is clearly in the thriller genre because of the speed of each characters intro. Overall I think that 'Snatch' is one of the best opening titles I have even seen because of its transitions that change and the use of graphic matches to move onto the next character. The 'Mise En Scene' that is used in the film is shown through the costume the people are wearing because they are all similar like they are part of a gang or team. Finally the music that is used in the background is refered to the music from a bank heist or a robbery where the clock is ticking and they dont have much time.which links with the speed of the characters and the way they are timed in order.
