Vox Pop Interview
From my Vox Pop I have learnt that people enjoy crime and action thrillers. People enjoy crime thrillers because they are intriguing and intense. People who like action thrillers stated that they liked the action and they find them exciting to watch. This tells me that crime and action thrillers are the most liked and I can use this to decide what type of thriller I will produce.
I also learnt that people like thrillers because of the excitement, suspense, mystery and because it gets them on the edge of their seat. This tells me that when I make a thriller opening I need to make it intense and exciting and I need to add some mystery to it.

My Psycho Analysis
Psycho Analysis

The first shot we see
from the film psycho we get a calm feeling when you see a lady just getting on
with her standard life in her house, before she goes into the bathroom with get
lots of standard mid shots with a slow pace. As the woman goes into the shower
we get some different camera shot to hide her body from the camera by using
high angle shots and tilts so focus on the woman’s face, as she turn on the
powerful shower it creates a tense mood because the shower is so loud the lady
can’t hear anything around her it creates tension because you think that
something is going to happen the background changes from slow to medium because
you think that something is going to happen.
While the woman is in
the shower the camera moves and shows the head of the shower with the water
blasting out then as it focuses back onto the woman the camera uses a pan to
move and focus on something entering the room this is when the music quickens
and becomes high pitch while the shots speed up and keep changing as the
curtain rail is ripped back. The psycho stands with a dark silhouette look with
long hair covering the predator’s face which shows the psycho is the power
house with the dominance against the weak skinny woman, the psycho stands with
a bold position as he holds the knife towards the woman as she screams for
help. The camera changes to an over the shoulder shot where you see the weak
victim as he goes in for the striking blows as the woman is defenceless, the
shots changes with a cut away as she is being stabbed from the attack to bad
weather with a storm which shows the scene as havoc which portrays the sharp
changes in the scene to the fast blows to the woman as she is defenceless.
After the woman has been
stabbed many time there is innocence as she slides down the wall the camera
uses a tilt to show the focus of her falling down the wall, she leans out to
grab the shower curtain like she is gripping for her life as the shower curtain
gives way and she falls over the camera shows her dead body from a bird’s eye
view where you see the victim lay after the way falls, the blood from the woman
swirls and goes down the drain as the camera twisted down the plug whole where
the shot uses extreme close up where the camera zooms into the woman’s eye and
plug comparing shapes and the life being drained away.Thursday, 2 October 2014
Seven 7 Opening Titles
In the film ‘Seven’ shows the opening titles in different way for example the shots changes with high speed creating tension as the cast’s names pop up with a psychological effect which creates a mysterious feeling at the start off the film also the way the hands are drawn on the page show that there might be some damage or injury.
Finally the shot show a child with their eyes crossed out this might mean that he is a victim that is going to be hurt or something will happen to him but with all the shots changing at a fast pace the tension builds as the shot describes the film and the background what might happen in the film.
In this shot it shows people working in a factory or a manufacturing place where they are making bullets which shows that there might be some gun fight during the film or maybe even death. But the way that the shot changes as the names come up shows the background of the story and the setting of the film.
